Jeff Katz Named GA TLC Chair

The Georgia Technology Leadership Coalition (TLC) announced that Jeff Katz, President and COO of Definition 6, will become its next Chair, succeeding Randy Keith. The Coalition was formed in 2000 and serves as the voice of the Georgia technology industry on policy issues. Cathy Woolard, former President of the Atlanta City Council, serves as the lobbyist for the Coalition. Under Jeff’s leadership, the coalition will strive to address major issues surrounding education, corporate information security, telework and transportation alternatives, along with empowering state pension fund managers to invest in venture capital.

The Coalition is comprised of executives from Georgia-based technology companies as well as technology companies with headquarters in other states that have an interest in technology policy in Georgia. Additional members include technology trade associations such as AeA, the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), and the Atlanta Electronic Commerce Forum (AECF). Several Chambers of Commerce including the Metro Atlanta Chamber, Gwinnett Chamber and the North Fulton Chamber are also members.

According to Randy Keith, past two-time chair of the Coalition and currently serving as the President of Serenic Inc., “I’m honored to have served as the Chair of the TLC and, more importantly, proud of the traction that I think we’ve gotten within the halls of the state capitol. Jeff is a great guy and his experience in the technology industry combined with his passion for advancing the cause through effective policy will serve him well. I’m glad to hand the baton over to Jeff and will continue to work together with him and other members of the Coalition in the continuing efforts to make Georgia a great state for technology companies.”
