Definition 6 announces that Richard E. Steele, Jr. is joining the firm as Chief Development Officer. Mr. Steele will be responsible for developing new business, expanding Definition 6’s network and brand throughout the Southeast, mentoring the sales team, and coordinating the company’s community involvement. Definition 6 leverages expertise in business applications, advanced infrastructure, design, marketing and consulting to create innovative communication, collaboration and commerce solutions that help clients increase revenues and reduce costs to build competitive advantage.

“Ricky Steele has been a member of our Board of Directors since 2000, so we know his excellent track record and reputation as one of Atlanta’s great rain makers,” said Michael Kogon, CEO of Definition 6. “When I learned Ricky had recently finished a project where he successfully positioned a local staffing firm while adding over 20 new clients, I moved quickly to secure his services.”

“I have known Michael Kogon and his family since the late 90’s. They are men of integrity, character, and great drive. Serving on the Definition 6 board, I have watched the leadership team during great times and very challenging times. In either situation, they always choose the right decision for the right reason,” said Richard E. Steele, Jr., new Chief Development Officer of Definition 6. “After finishing my last engagement, I planned on taking several months off to refocus before seeking a new opportunity. Michael’s vision and passion for excellence sparked a fire in me that I have not experienced since my own entrepreneurial days. Definition 6 is a successful company with an impressive portfolio of clients and I look forward to working with their great team.”

Most recently, Steele served as Chief Development Officer for a local I.T. staffing firm where he developed new business and expanded the company network of outsourced and contract employees. In 2004, he wrote a book, “The Heart of Networking,” a blueprint for building business networks that create satisfaction among clients, customers, colleagues, bosses, investors, and the community. Prior to that, he built several companies from scratch along with engagements with PricewaterhouseCoopers and Korn/Ferry International.

Ricky Steele was chosen as the Georgia Small Business Person of the Year and also one of the Georgia Jaycees’ “5 Outstanding Young Georgians.” He is the founding chairman of both Atlanta’s Table and Hospitality Helping Hands, a former board director for the Atlanta Community Food Bank, Hands on Atlanta, Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau and most recently a Trustee for Leadership Atlanta.
