Business Development Executive

We have an immediate opening for a Business Development Executive to be based out of our New York and Dallas offices.

About the Job

The Business Development Executive's role is to manage the client relationship at the executive and operational levels to ensure an effective, long-term and mutually beneficial business relationship. The Business Development Executive will lead specific client engagement pursuits in strategic consulting, marketing strategy and implementation, branding, creative design, and web site and e-commerce application development. The Business Development Executive is ultimately responsible for the successful completion of client engagements, and increasing revenue from accounts through add-on and new sales.

The primary responsibility of the Business Development Executive is to achieve stated revenue goals. They will be expected to fulfill the entire sales process including prospecting new business, set meetings, present, close and manage client expectations across the digital portfolio. They will utilize a sales automation system to manage day-to-day activities and update management of such activity through system generated activity reports. They will need to demonstrate an understanding of and remain current with the digital media market. Other duties as assigned by members of management.

Responsibilities and Job Requirements:

Experience in the Interactive / Digital Marketing Agency Space HIGHLY PREFERRED

Providing strategic consulting services within specific areas of expertise including marketing strategy and implementation, branding, creative design, and web site and e-commerce application development
Fulfill the entire sales process including prospecting new business, set meetings, present, close and manage client expectations across the digital portfolio. Planning, coordinating and executing client engagements involving all Definition 6 products and services
Maintaining client relationships at the executive and senior management levels through presentations, work sessions and ongoing communications
Developing the overall account strategy for maximizing long-term revenue and profit opportunities with key clients
Extending existing relationships to secure new business within the client organization
Supervising and reviewing the activities and work products of Project Managers working on specific engagements
Maintain written documentation of sales activities in order to facilitate appropriate reporting
Use the consultative sales strategy to effectively overcome client objections and maximize sales activity within assigned territory
Establish and maintain good public relations and networking within the community to develop new business
Collaborate with appropriate internal resources to develop comprehensive sales presentation materials tailored to the account
Collaborate with internal service staff to ensure that accounts sold are consistent with service resources and candidate pool
Interface with appropriate management to establish pricing for quotes and bids that are consistent with the company's financial objectives
Create compelling and effective demos and presentations
Complete Request for Proposals (RFP's) and other selling documents with compelling customized descriptions; come up to speed on a range of web/software technologies and business functionality/processes in a timely manner; seek out information and people within Definition 6 as needed
Creating proposal and Memoranda of Engagement documents
Managing Accounts Receivables at the client level

Experience Level:

3 to 5 years experience managing large projects and client relationships in marketing, advertising, web-based application development or other related, project-based fields
Proven record of sales success in achieving stated goals
Demonstrated record of success cold calling for new business
Superior sales and phone skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Technical Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office products - Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Project management and systems development life cycle skills including scope and issue management, schedule management, and deliverable oriented delivery
Basic concepts of web-metaphor creative and user interface design
Business level understanding of web application development tools including HTML, ASP, and XML and database-driven system architecture
Knowledgeable with contact management systems and such as Salesforce.com

Broad base of interactive technical/product knowledge
Aptitude for analysis and research of markets, industry verticals and potential client's market opportunities
Demonstrated ability to incorporate urgency and strong client service ethic into every aspect of your work while keeping an eye to detail accuracy

Additional Skills and Competencies:

Provides consultative capabilities to clients as needed, particularly in the area of interactive marketing
Can communicate effectively and credibly across all levels of a client organization with the specific ability to gain trust, draw out needs, creatively propose ideas, and immediately and expertly resolve conflicts and concerns
Articulate in oral and written communications, presentation, persuasion and negotiation to achieve optimum project results
Ability to handle several significant client relationships simultaneously

About the Job

Mid-level account management position responsible for servicing one or more agency clients. Serve as regular Client day-to-day liaison.

Essential duties, responsibilities and skills include

Coordinate the various departments of our agency and client team members on all aspects of multiple simultaneous projects

Work with the resource manager to estimate future resource needs and plan for short-term unknowns

Supervise creative, media, social media and technical development for interactive projects to include: online advertising campaigns, Flash Demos, websites, mini-sites, publisher custom programs, larger partnerships and email campaigns
