Snapchat Adds User Tagging in Stories

- Snapchat users are now able to tag other users in their stories, a feature Instagram has had since November 2016.
- The new feature is currently being tested and has not yet seen wide release.
- Users can tag multiple people in one Snap.
- This could have lasting effects with influencer marketing as a brand can tag them in a post or they could offer users a chance to be tagged.
- It also allows users to tag brands and show off their products while giving brands more exposure.
Google Adds Social Media Elements To Search

- Musicians can now share social posts directly to Google, which will let them add personal insights to guide searchers with relevant info about tour dates, releases, etc.
- This was added to the musician Knowledge Panel, living alongside photos, links to music examples, and more.
- Google has also recently introduced other search additions like videos of celebrities answering common questions about themselves and ‘Google My Business’ posts.

- The Same People Keep Seeing Your Ad: Make sure you exclude previous converters when setting up your ad – if someone keeps seeing your ad after having clicking on it, they’ll likely grow tired of it. Also, if they’ve already converted that money would be better spent on someone new.
- You’re Changing Everything Too Quickly: It can be easy to get caught up in immediate numbers and make changes on the fly but it’s important to make sure your updates have time to settle in. Don’t constantly check ad optimizer – leave it alone for 24-48 hours if you’ve recently changed something. It takes a little time for changes to take effect.
- You’re Trying to Test Everything At Once: You must make sure you work from a baseline with your ads, and only change one thing at a time. Otherwise, the data may not be clean and useful for helping you figure out which change affected performance.
- You’re Setting & Forgetting Forever: If you just let your ads run for months at a time and don’t regularly check performance, you may not be getting the results you need. Make a habit of checking daily to keep an eye on performance and see where changes need to be made.
- You’re Not Documenting Anything: Keep a master document that tracks all of your campaigns, their changes, and performance. Keeping a running record will help you know what you tried, what worked, and what didn’t. Detailed notes will only help you in the long run.
