John Gill brings over 15 years of experience in the edit room. His client list includes Comedy Central, USA Network, Spike TV, Nickelodeon, VH1, AMC, TLC, BET, Animal Planet, and Travel Channel. Stemming from his diverse background in the entertainment industry, John has a wide range of styles. These include promos, long form TV, short form web content, trailers, industrials, documentary style, live music, interviews, pilots, soft-scripted reality, multi-camera editing, corporate video, and upfront presentations for high profile brands.

Prior to joining DEFINITION 6, during his tenure at MTV, John worked as an entertainment news reporter/producer and in radio and TV programming. He was part of the original team that launched branded music channels on XM Satellite radio, leading him to interview the likes of Britney Spears, Jay-Z, Foo Fighters, Snoop Dogg, Beyonce, Steven Tyler, and various film and TV stars.

John is proficient in both Avid and Final Cut Studio. He has experience in other areas, including production, music supervision, programming, broadcast operations, radio, and Internet development.

In addition to working at DEFINITION 6, John serves as a faculty instructor in the Video, Film & Animation department at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
