Award-winning mixer and sound designer Michael Barrett has been with our team since its inception back in the Creative Bubble days. He recently received two Daytime Emmy awards for “Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing – Live Action” and “Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing – Live Action” for his work on Sesame Street.
This is the fifth consecutive year Mike has won Emmy awards for a total of 8 statuettes received for his work on Sesame Street. His children’s work spans nearly 10 years with Sesame Street and includes show mixing for Bear in the Big Blue House, Oobi, and the pilot for highly-acclaimed children’s animated series The Wonder Pets.
Mike’s high profile sports sound design and mixing includes Monday Night Football and SuperBowls XXXIII and XL. He also has extensive experience with short format as well, working with Nickelodeon, Disney, Showtime, Comedy Central, Oxygen, Food Network, USA, HBO and other leading cable and broadcast networks.
Mike cut his proverbial teeth mixing long format shows including Michael Moore’s The Awful Truth on Bravo and BBC 4, Comedy Central’s Upright Citizen’s Brigade and Stranger’s With Candy, and numerous shows for VH1 and MTV, including I Love The 80’s, MTV Cribs, and MTV Diary.
A guitar player, Mike graduated from the Music Production and Engineering department at Berklee College of Music.
